We wanted to begin with a couple of items. We had a chance to speak with several people yesterday about Slavko. For those who knew him, crew and guests, his sudden passing was a shock and so many of us are numb. Ironically, over dinner when we were speaking with some members of the Osteria Waitstaff team about Slavko, all of a sudden the sun came out between the clouds. We remarked that Slavko must be watching over us. He was such a great person, father, and husband and he was very impactful on so many people in the most positive way. May Slavko rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing. We welcomed several returning guests who we know very well as we saw them yesterday afternoon and evening. They were happy to be back, and we were happy to see them once again. This is part of the excitement of cruising with Crystal knowing you will see guests and crew who you may have known for quite some time. While rain was in the forecast yesterday, we were fortunate that it didn't rain. We enjoyed another fantastic evening on Crystal Serenity with dinner at the Italian Restaurant Osteria. After taking our order, Nenad asked us what type of pace we would like the meal served in. In other words, he inquired whether or not we had plans for after dinner. We responded by saying a slow pace would be great and that dinner last night would also be our evening entertainment. His service and the service of the entire team was impeccable. Dining at Osteria is similar to dining at a high end restaurant on land with great service, cuisine and ambience of the beautiful dining venue. Add to this the fact you don't have to look for parking when you arrive nor drive home at night which are both added pluses. LOL. We enjoyed some items that we have had before along with one item recently added to the menu and a couple of items we hadn't had before. There were close to 35 enrichment activities on the schedule. This included a talk about Astoria and San Francisco and a talk about Russia and Ukraine. We also visited the salon/spa in the morning. Like last night's dining, we simply walked up one flight of stairs and we were there. As we were about an hour from Astoria we saw lots of fishing boats. Our first visit to Astoria was in 2016 on-board Crystal Serenity. It is a charming town. Cheers,
Anne Marie & Keith
