July 1 & July 2

We hope our Canadian friends had a very Happy Canada Day. See the sign that said the cake is for display only. Good idea just in case someone was hungry. LOL.

We returned to Marketplace for Lunch and sat outside with friends Andrea and David.

There is so much to choose from at Marketplace. Most of the hot items change each day and there is always a food station where an entrée is slices including fish, turkey, beef, pork loin and even the pig. I am posting just a few of the food stations.

After lunch we walked again with Andrea. You must burn off those calories. LOL. Between Lunch and this walk the weather changed several times. We had sun, clouds, some wind and some drizzle.

We started the day as we always do. Keith began by doing a speed walk on the Promenade Deck but moved up to the Pool Deck because it was windy.

At one point he heard a helicopter and when I looked up there it was. It hovered above Serenity for about 30 seconds.

After breakfast we both walked together on the Promenade Deck.

Today's Daily Reflections.

We first visited Bordeaux, France in 2007 and we have visited this wonderful city three other times. Other than our first visited, we have toured just a few of the 45,000 chateaux. Many are very unique with iconic and historic buildings located on the site. Tomorrow we will visit a few of the chateaux.

Bordeaux is a city located on the Garonne river.

The actual city is small but if you add in all of its suburbs has a large population and physical area.

Bordeaux is recognized as a world capital of wine and is a tourist destination.

It's tourist attractions include:

La Cite du Vin, a futuristic museum dedicated to wine.

Place de la Bourse & Water Mirror which is an iconic reflecting pool.

Bassins des Lumières which is a massive digital art exhibition.

Old Bordeaux & Landmarks where one can explore the narrow streets the Gothic Saint-Andre Cathedral and the medieval gates.

Darwin Ecosystem which is a trendy eco-friendly urban space.

Jarwin Public 18th century park which we walked extensively on our last visit in 2023 and Garonne River Walk which is a nice place to walk or cycle.

There are plenty of wines to sample and there is Marche des Capucins which is the city's largest market where one can enjoy local oysters, cheese and pastries.
