CANNES, FRANCE

In the afternoon, while Anne Marie was unpacking Keith walked around the ship where he visited with many guests we know from prior cruises and ran into so many crew. It was truly a family affair. He looked at Umi Uma which was stunning.

Our room looks great. The carpeting was replaced, new phones, new bed linens, walls painted, draws detailed. Everything look prestine.

Muster Drill was at 5:15 pm which for us was at the Hollywood Theatre. Afterwards, we went to a welcome celebration featuring Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, Executive Director of A&K Travel and Crystal's CEO, Christina Levis.

Each of their talks was great.  Christina mentioned that when she first visited Crystal Serenity in 2013 she could feel the soul of the ship.  This resonated with all of us.

Afterwards, we had our Travel Specialist, Gerri, to our room for wine before it was time to have dinner at Osteria D'Ovidio. We were joined for dinner with Mary Jean who is the CEO of the Travel Company we use and our Travel Specialist Gerri. To our surprise  hosting us was Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, Executive Director of A&K Travel Group & Christina Levis Crystal CEO. It was a lovely evening with amazing conversation and amazing cuisine.

The food is clearly Michelin and the as is the ambience. It is different than Prego which is more typical of American Italian. This venue is clearly a blend of Northern and Southern Italian.

We then went to the top outdoor deck and watched a special fireworks celebration which Crystal arranged.

This was an amazing end to the day.

Between the launch of Crystal and our Anniversary we couldn't have asked for more.

Everyone we spoke with talked about how magical the day was. This is the special relationship with the crew and with fellow guests.

Keith was able to do some of the laundry after waking up and then made a visit to the Fitness Center.  Anne Marie took over and got the rest of the laundry all done.  We enjoyed breakfast in the room and got ready for our first full day of the cruise.  Keith participated in a program where he was on video, while Anne Marie enjoyed a morning walk.  

We tendered off Cannes, France. We decided to make the ship our destination today which we will do tomorrow.  

What did we do?

Anne Marie walked the Promenade Deck for an hour.  Keith went up and played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours; first with one couple and then with a guest Keith has played with for many years.

Lunch was terrific as it always is on board.

We continued to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Another walk for Anne Marie more tennis for Keith with other guests he knows including Elizabeth and Leon.

Tonight is a formal night; one of two this sailing.
