BACK TO THE CRYSTAL SERENITY, WHERE EVEN YOUR WORRIES TAKE A VACATION!We've absolutely loved every moment of our time in Reykjavik, Iceland! If you had asked us back in 2020 whether we'd spend three pre-cruises in this city, we would have said no way. It's amazing how things turn out! We've absolutely loved every moment of our time in Reykjavik, Iceland! If you had asked us back in 2020 whether we'd spend three different pre-cruise stays in this city, we would have said no way. It's amazing how things turn out! Since our very first cruise, there is something very special about embarkation day. The anticipation and excitement builds from the moment we’re awake about starting a new cruising adventure. We’re thrilled being back on Crystal Serenity! We've practically lived a lifetime on this ship—three and a half years, to be exact. Our first cruise on Serenity was in 2005 for two back-to-back cruises totaling twenty-four days sailing the Mediterranean. At the time it was our longest cruise. We began at the port of Civitavecchia the gateway to Rome, Italy. It was on these cruises that we decided to book a World Cruise. In fact, we submitted a waitlist deposit for the 2007 World Cruise having no idea what the itinerary was. A few weeks later the itinerary was published. A few months after that the 2008 World Cruise was released and we had a feeling we would have such a great time in 2007 that we immediately booked 2008. If we add in our time on Crystal Symphony and the former Crystal Harmony, along with the former Crystal Endeavor and Mozart we've spent well over four years at sea sailing with Crystal! Similar to booking a second world cruise before we sailed the first one, we were so sure we would love our first cruise on the Crystal Harmony in 2002, that months before this sailing that we booked a cruise on Crystal Symphony for 2003. We were right on all accounts and as they say the rest is history. We’ve included photos from the first time on Harmony, Symphony and Serenity. As we arrived to the port and saw Crystal Serenity, all we could do was smile. We continued smiling while we waited to board Serenity. We saw fellow guests and some crew members. The excitement continued as we walked up the gangway. We were greeted by some members of the security team and once they scanned our documents we walked a few feet and we were standing inside Serenity. Once on board, it felt like a family reunion with our beloved Crystal Serenity crew. We have known some of the crew for 23 years. Guess what we had for lunch? No tough decisions here! We enjoyed our classic embarkation meal—a delicious Cobb Salad paired with a flute of champagne—and raised a toast to our love for one another. Cheers! Butler Rao took care of everything. This is our route for this first voyage of our adventure. Today's Daily Refections Your browser does not support viewing this document. Click here to download the document. Cheers,
