ON THE ROAD AGAIN Guess what? Tonight, we're hitting the road again! Or should I say, we're channeling our inner Willie Nelson with a twist. Imagine him crooning, “On the road again….I just can’t wait to get on the road again,” but instead of a highway, we're soaring through the skies to Reykjavik, Iceland! Yes, we're hopping on a flying metal bird this evening, touching down tomorrow morning, and spending four fabulous nights in the city before we hop aboard the Crystal Serenity. Fasten your seatbelts.
In years past, we would tackle this entire trip in just one day, flying straight to O'Hare and catching an evening flight to Reykjavik, Iceland. But this time, we opted for an exciting change by staying overnight at a hotel in Chicago O'Hare! The reasons? First, to handle any potential cancellation of our initial flight to O'Hare, and second, to avoid an exhausting, super long day. What an adventure! What a delightful coincidence! We found ourselves chatting with someone in a massive sundry shop on the underground level of O'Hare. Unlike typical shops, this place was a treasure trove of goodies, offering way more than just snacks, magazines, and small over-the-counter items. They had clothes and all sorts of exciting products! The gentleman mentioned that a good number of travelers flying into O'Hare often miss their connections for various reasons and end up staying at the very hotel we're at, needing extra items to get through the night. With that we started singing to ourselves John Lennon’s song Whatever Gets You Thru the Night. LOL. As to rather long day and night, back in 2018, we embarked on an unforgettable journey. We flew from our home airport to Los Angeles (LAX) and spent nearly 12 hours eagerly awaiting our flight to Sydney, Australia. It was a day to remember, and we promised ourselves, "Never again!" In 2021, we jetted off to Reykjavik to hop on the former Crystal Endeavor. We had an epic eight-hour layover at JFK airport. Sure, it wasn’t as marathon-like as our 2018 adventure, but we figured breaking up the flights was the way to go. If we were younger, we'd have been like, "No problem!" Back in the day, Keith used to travel for business like a pro. But let’s be real, he was younger, and flying was a breeze compared to now! We will close for now. Cheers, Anne Marie and Keith

Boy, I can relate to your strategy of breaking up the flight as we get older. Reduced stress and fresher upon arrival.
