Happy Canada Day. Enclosing a photo from Monday Crystal Society Milestone when we were recognized for a Crystal Society Milestone. From left to right Cruise Director Russ; Future Cruise & Loyalty Manager Andrew, me, Anne Marie, Captain Vincent and Future Cruise & Loyalty Manager Maria. We were back outside at Marketplace for lunch with friends Andrea and David. There was a little chill so one of the waiters was kind and brought us each a blanket. Keith played about ninety minutes of Paddle Tennis while Anne Marie enjoyed a nice walk with Andrea. At 5:30 PM yesterday Captain Vincent spoke from the bridge to advise everyone that due to severe sea swells that we could not anchor off St Jean De Luz, France tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM. The decision to not allow us to anchor was made by the local port authority. The Captain said we would stay overnight at Santander, Spain till 2:30 PM tomorrow when we would sail to Bordeaux for our scheduled arrival of Thursday morning. Guests can go back into port but need to return to Serenity b 9:30 PM and they can go off the ship in the morning as well. These are the Waterside Dinner Menus from last evening. We do this because for us it’s special so we want to look forward to dining there and because we enjoy Waterside. There are so many great choices at Umi Uma. If you like Sashimi you have the Nobu Specials along with lots of Sashimi to choose from and if you don’t care for Sashimi there are many different Sushi Rolls to choose. There are salads and a diverse selection of entrées including cooked fish, chicken and beef along with sashimi, and there is soup. And there are some special desserts. The included wine is great including a Nobu Chardonnay. The drink list includes other wine along with Japanese beer and for and there is Sake. Nevertheless, he still was the only one walking on the Promenade Deck at the time of my walk. LOL. After a short break, Keith returned to do another fast walk. This time he walked on the sun deck on the top of the ship. I don’t do this very often, but it provides other views and is another nice area to walk or run. Still no guests around so it was very quiet. There is so much space inside and outside the ship which we love. We plan to enjoy the rest of today on-board Crystal Serenity by making this unplanned stay in port a sea day so we are posting early today.
Cheers, Anne Marie & Keith
