The Grand Kickoff Of Our Journey: Just the Two of Us

Today marks the grand kickoff of our escapade! It's just the two of us, like that catchy tune by Lennon/McCartney. You know, the one with the lyrics "we're on our way home," which is perfect since we're heading to Reykjavik, Iceland. In a few days, we'll be back aboard Crystal Serenity. Whether we're cruising on the Crystal Serenity or the Crystal Symphony, it feels like coming home to our Crystal Family. Anchors aweigh and bring on the adventure!

We are splitting the start of this adventure into two days. Just like last year, we're jetting off from our home airport to Chicago O'Hare, we have a sleepover before catching a flight to Reykjavik, Iceland. It's like a pre-vacation vacation. LOL.

​Today’s flight and airport adventure went smoother than a penguin on ice! We breezed through check-in at our home airport, and even the TSA line couldn’t hold us back. We made our way into the airline club lounge. Boarding was supposed to start 40 minutes before takeoff, but they must have been as eager as us because they kicked it off a couple of minutes early. We waved goodbye to the gate ahead of schedule, and yes, our luggage decided to join us on the plane too. The flight was as eventful as a snail race, and we touched down early. Who knew miracles could be so punctual?
 
The miracle kept unfolding as our luggage was the first to arrive! This was a first. We then leisurely walked over to the hotel located right on the grounds of Chicago O’Hare airport, and it was just a quick five-minute stroll!
 
 

Tomorrow, we make our way to Reykjavik. Iceland here we come. Crystal Serenity here we come. We’re on our way home.
