Day 2 Miami

It was great to start the day off by waking up in Miami and knowing we didn't have to take a flight today.  LOL.

We enjoyed breakfast in the room and then got ready to go on a walk. The downtown area is busier with each passing year. This is attributable to all of the people who live in this part of the city with  all of the apartments and condominiums which have been built, along with more hotels, restaurants and shopping.  Even in the last year we observed buildings which were under construction last year now occupied and new apartments and condominiums under construction.  The vast number of buildings have been added since we first stayed in this part of Miami in 2007.

We walked along Biscayne Bay as we made our way towards the area toward the Port of Miami.  Several ships were in port given the time of year and because today is a Saturday.  Lots of people out and about.

As we walked we thought about all of the buildings that were under construction that we saw over the years and how the city has been transformed. We saw the vessel that comes here this time of the year by the Intercontinental.  There was a run for the special olympics and it was nice to hear people cheering for the runners. 

Like yesterday the weather was windy but still a delight.
Shortly after we got back we did get some rain.  

We plan to walk again this afternoon once the rain clears out so we will post now.
