Day 3 Miami

Patricia, glad you like the formatting of the photos.  We mainly bring back food.  With Anne Marie's compromised immune system, we find this works very well for us.

Betty, glad you are following along.

The Miami weather has been a bit different than we normally experience this time of year. Yesterday had periods of high wind. While no rain was in the forecast there it rained on and off for what turned out to be a couple of hours.  The good news is we avoided being out when it rained. There is a similar forecast for today. No rain in the forecast but wind in the forecast.  The weekday does call for higher chances of rain so we'll just have to see what each day brings. The good news is the temperature calls for high 70's each day.

We took another long walk in the morning. We took a similar route as we did yesterday walking along the bay and back over to Brickell where we headed to the Miami Intercontinental Hotel.  Anne Marie stayed there while Keith walked across the bridge over to the Port of Miami.  He met Anne Marie back at the hotel and we walked over to Bayside.  We walked around Bayside and then from there over to Mary Brickell Village and then over to a Publix Grocery store located closer to the Four Seasons hotel than the one at Mary Brickell.

During our walk we passed some restaurants where we would dine at prior to sailing on Crystal. This included Truluck’s, Capital Grille and the former spot at Mary Brickell where Perricone’s Restaurant used to reside.  Awhile back the owner sold the land to a developer and relocated the restaurant to another location.  We did pass by North Italia where we dined last year for lunch and will do the same thing on Tuesday.  Close by our hotel is another restaurant we have dined at over the years called Atrio on the top floor of the Conrad Miami Hilton.

In years past, we would take a Taxi over to South Beach and walk from there over to the Fontainebleau Hotel and then back to South Beach.  Often we would visit the Holocaust Memorial.  We are not sure if we will do the same this time. We also would take in one or two Miami Heat Basketball Games. With the NBA cup tournament the schedule is different than most other years and there was not a game to be seen this time around.

The afternoon included another nice walk.

Weather keeps changing from cloudy to sunny to windy to less wind.
