FIRST DAY - WASHINGTON, DC
We had the car service take us from our home to our area airport. The drive was uneventful. We have TSA Pre Check but there was no one on-line at any of the TSA checkpoints. Keith asked one of the TSA officials where is everyone and he said you should have arrived an hour ago It was a mad-house. He also remarked that we were here three hours before our flight and he see many people arriving twenty minutes before their flights.
When we arrived to the airline club the person checking us in told us the same story. She said up until 20 minutes before we arrived, the lounge was a zoo. Today must be our lucky day.
Our flight left on schedule and was uneventful and we arrived to Ronald Reagan Airport a few minutes early. Upon claiming our bag from the luggage carrousel we made our way into Washington, DC where we are staying at the downtown Ritz Carlton. The hotel is only a few blocks from two of the headquarters locations which Keith worked at during his first few years at MCI. The hotel was not around when we lived in Washington.
After checking into the room we went to the club floor to enjoy a snack and some wine. We were having such a good time that we just decided to stay at the hotel. Tomorrow we will walk as much as we can and hopefully see all of the place that we have planned.
Until tomorrow. We are thrilled to be back to Washington, DC.
