Normally we start with last evening but we wanted to change that for today. We arrived to Cabo San Lucas a couple of minutes before 5:00 AM ship time. We say ship time as we are not on local time. Cabo was selected for the medical situation because of its location to where we were sailing (it's closer than having gone to San Diego and Los Angeles) and for its medical facilities. Our hearts go out to the guest and her spouse whom we have known for many years. Please say a prayer. Please send positive thoughts even if you don't know them. We believe it helps. Last evening began with the World Cruise Games 2020 Opening Ceremony held in the Crystal Plaza. It included the kickoff and the parade of flags. Events begin today. Members of the crew marched with flags representing each of the countries represented by each guest participating in the World Games. Wherever possible the crew members were representing their own countries. There was dancing and singing and a terrific way to kickoff the World Games. And of course confetti. Afterwards, we listened to Pianist Richard Pucci play a nice range of music. We returned to dinner last evening at Waterside. We mentioned Ricardo is our Sommelier. Ricardo returned from Holiday. Each cruise they rotate all of the Sommelier's to different areas of Waterside. Upstairs they rotate many of the Sommelier's to between the other restaurants. Dinner was great. We enjoyed three courses including a new appetizer which was a Crab Salad. Keith also enjoyed the grouper and the description said it was spicy. It was perfect for him but for those who don't care for spice food or for those where spicy seasoning does not agree this is one to pass on. Keith thought it was delicious. The evening entertainment included Grammy Nominated Saxophonist Tommy Proulx who has high energy. He performed two times. Afterwards it was back to our room to enjoy a good nights sleep. The day began with a workout at the Fitness Center. Whereas on the first cruise he would often be working out by himself on this cruise others are in the center. Breakfast back in the room as we got ready for another wonderful day on-board Crystal Serenity. Afterwards, Keith went on a run on the Promenade Deck. The weather was very nice and he was able to go on a long run. Since this was a sea day Anne Marie attended Yoga taught by Maria and Joe Kita. The class has been full. They have two morning classes and they teach them on different levels. Keith participated in Singles Paddle Tennis as part of the World Games. He won the first round but lost for the round which would have gotten him into the round for medals. It's all about fun and he had a great time. There were three lectures given; Dr Doug Beason spoke about the E-Bomb, General Nick Halley spoke about war stories including the Cuban Missile Crisis to Iraq and Cheri Steinkellner spoke about how TV gets made. We had lunch at Marketplace. During his Noon talk from the Bridge, Captain Birger said the medical stop at Cabo went well. He mentioned that another guest had a medical issue last evening and also departed Serenity in Cabo. He noted to make up time we were traveling at 20 knots. He said that we left Cabo as if the ship had ben stolen as it was a quick stop and we were now traveling very fast. Everyone laughed at his joke. The afternoon included what we enjoy; walk for Anne Marie and Paddle Tennis for Keith and a light snack. Daily Program Follows. Cheers,
Anne Marie & Keith
